Flannel Friday Holiday/Winter Extravaganza Roundup!

Happy Flannel Friday everyone!  We've got lots of flannel board sets to share this week--check them all out... (Since I'm posting early on Friday night, you can add links in the comments section through Saturday morning, and I'll add them as they come in!)

Kathryn (and her cohort Margaret) at Fun with Friends at Storytime collaborated to make a great rhyme and felt treasure chest that will be a sure hit at any Pirate themed story time!  Love the interactive nature of this one...

Kathryn also shares a Little Mouse variation--a lovely moon and clouds set (which would pair well with a bedtime story time, or a sky theme, or a space theme....)

Feel like counting to five?  Kate at Felt Board Magic has got you covered from Halloween to Christmas, from the jungle to the tropics, with Five Little Birds, Lions, Bats, and Christmas Trees!

I'm definitely making a copy of Shawn's Color Squirrels set at Read, Rhyme Sing!  My kids this year LOVE squirrels, and they're going to go nuts over matching their acorns to these colorful guys :)

Feeling a little sorry for the Itsy Bitsy Spider?  You're in good company with Keith at Felt-tastic Flannelboard Funtime, who shares what looks to be a not-so-itsy-bitsy kawaii felt spider--and a surprise guest appearance at the end of his post!

Finally, I made a set that could be used with a clothing/costume/winter story time; as an interactive set; or for independent use:  Winter Friends Dress Up.

Flannel Friday Roundup 9/30/16

Welcome fall, and welcome to the Flannel Friday Roundup for 9.30.16, and thanks to everyone who contributed!

Starting off, we've got two sets from Kate at Felt Board Magic--an A is for Apple sorting set, and a super simple and super cute take on B-I-N-G-O:  RAINY Was the Weather.

Next, we take a trip to outer space with Keith at Felt-tastic Flannelboard Funtime.  Keith always teaches me something new, and his Zoom Zoom Zoom Redux does not disappoint, with new tidbits of knowledge about Jupiter, Juno, and more...

Amy at One Little Librarian has an adorable and magical Colorful Squirrel set.  If you love the Rainbow Stew song, you are sure to love this take on it--great for color recognition and fall story times!

Jane (and Piper) at Piper Loves the Library celebrate International Dot Day!  Please take a look at her post about art, creativity, and community collaboration (and check out her fabulous, open-ended flannel dot board, which everyone should have!)

And finally, I'm posting my simplest set ever--Hickory Dickory Dock, and an update to my Ocean Set.

Flannel Friday Roundup August 26th

Here's the Flannel Friday Roundup for this week--thanks everyone for your contributions!

Take a look at these super cool, 3D boxes at Kathryn's Fun With Friends at Storytime.  She shares a Little Mouse-type rhyme to go along with the boxes, as well as three book ideas for a box storytime!

Storytime Station has a great laminated clipart set to go along with the fabulous Hooray for Hat.  I'm especially enamored with the extra hats she added, and her adorable sign to inspire more crowd cheering!

Flannel Friday Roundup for June 24th!

Hi everyone! Here's the Flannel Friday Roundup for the week...  Thanks to everyone for their wonderful contributions!


First up we've got sports metaphors galore over at Awnali's Librarian Is on the Loose!  She brings us THREE sports-related sets, including these helmets to use as a Little Mouse variation...

...a sports ball guessing game...

...and finally a really cute take on Five Elephants, using soccer players!  

If you're not into competitive sports, you can always get outside for some non-competitive fun...  Maybe go fly a kite? Check out Kathryn's amazing (I mean, really!) Kite set to accompany Grace Lin's Kite Flying.  It is beautiful, and a wonderful way to get kids interacting as they help build a kite on the board.  I love this!

...as well as a sweet and simple color game using umbrellas (with eyes!).  Both should be staples in your repertoire!

Speaking of sweet and simple, Laura at Literacious joins in the fun with this lovely set of felt Balloons.  She's got it paired up with Balloons, Balloons, Balloons, by Dee Lillegard, and includes several ideas on how to get the children involved and participating in the story.   I especially love her color combination and shiny rick rack balloon strings!

From sweet and simple, we go to...um...just plain suh-weeet!  You have got to check out Keith's (at Felt-tastic Flannelboard Funtime) T-themed sets.  He's got Tools to go along with Emma Garcia's Tap Tap Bang Bang (I have a copy that's been sitting right here waiting for me to flannelize it, and I have now been pushed into action!)  But wait, there's more...

...He has dump trucks dumping shapes (seemingly random shapes, but just you wait) hither and yon...  Sound effects are happening.  And songs...

...and finally, it all comes together when the tools build those dumped shapes into a train!  Genius at work, folks.  I'm copying.

Now, we're still not done!  What would a summertime Flannel Friday be without a quick trip to the ocean?!  Jennifer at Bookwings takes us to the beach and sings us some songs, sharing not only this beautifully cut Once I Caught A Fish (and various other sea creatures) Alive set...

...but also this squiggly little bloom of Jellyfish to go along with the Five Little Jellyfish rhyme.  She also share tons of book ideas to go along with the Ocean theme, and don't miss the video of Jennifer singing Baby Beluga with her ukulele!  You rocked it, Jennifer :)

Flannel Friday Roundup for 2/19

It's a super light roundup this week--but I'll be happy to add anyone to the roundup if you include a linky and a comment below by Sunday evening!  The more the merrier :)

Now for the roundup!

First off, we've got chickens!!  It's always Fun with Friends at Storytime, and this week is no different!  Kathryn has posted a cute and colorful Hens of Different Colors file folder rhyme, and she even links to many other wonderful chicken ideas she's blogged about in the past.  I think spring must be in the air...

And I'm sharing There's a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea.

Since we're so light this week, I'll add another!  I originally shared Who Sank the Boat in November, but that was before I had joined Flannel Friday, so hopefully it will be new to many of you!
